New set of FENSA COVID-19 guides helps installers plan for a safe return to work in people's homes.

Our colleagues in FENSA have recently released a detailed set of industry-specific guidance documents to help installers adapt to the current coronavirus situation as they plan a return to working in people’s homes:

  • Practical safety precautions when installing windows and doors during the COVID-19 pandemic
  • Guidance on completing a risk assessment (with RA template)
  • Homeowner guide: Having windows or doors installed during the COVID-19 outbreak

The result of a considerable amount of work and research – and benefitting from a great deal of field experience – the guides are an excellent aide to any installation firm looking to safely resume working within Government guidelines.

(For the latest official guidance see gov.uk/coronavirus)

These documents are free to access for any existing FENSA Approved Installer. Simply visit the FENSA Installer Portal Installer Portal to download the guides.

If you are not currently registered with FENSA, there has never been a better time to get on board with the country’s leading glazing Competent Person’s Scheme – learn more about becoming a FENSA Approved Installer more about becoming a FENSA Approved Installer.

If you are registered with (or wish to join) a Competent Person Scheme such as FENSA and the work you are carrying out falls within the remit of the scheme, a guarantee insurance policy (or IBG) must be provided along with a building regulations compliance certificate (e.g. a FENSA certificate).

At Installsure, we specialise in IBGs for window and door installers. Learn more about the benefits of making Installsure your IBG provider.
